Ronaldo Heads to Madrid for Treatment After Hamstring Injury

Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo will travel to Madrid for treatment on a right hamstring injury after medical examinations revealed the problem is more serious than initially thought.
The injury occurred during Al-Nassr FC’s 3–1 league victory over Al-Fayha FC last weekend, when the 41 year old forward was forced to leave the pitch after appearing to struggle with discomfort.
Speaking ahead of Al-Nassr’s upcoming league fixture against Neom Sports Club, head coach Jorge Jesusconfirmed that the veteran striker would undergo treatment in Spain under the care of his personal physiotherapist.
“In the last game, Cristiano came off with a muscle injury,” Jesus explained. “Following medical tests, it became clear the injury is more serious than we first thought. He will need time to rest and recover. Cristiano will travel to Spain for treatment, along with other injured players.”
The club has not provided a definite timeline for the forward’s return, but the coaching staff remains hopeful that he will recover soon and rejoin the squad.
Ronaldo will also be eager to regain full fitness ahead of Portugal’s scheduled international friendlies later this month. The European side is set to face Mexico at the historic Azteca Stadium on March 28 before meeting the United States in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 31 as part of preparations for upcoming global competitions.
His temporary absence could present a challenge for Al-Nassr as the team continues its push for silverware in domestic and continental competitions. The club currently leads the Saudi Pro League standings, holding a narrow two-point advantage over Al-Ahli FC.
Despite the setback, Ronaldo has enjoyed a productive campaign, scoring 21 league goals this season. He currently sits third in the league’s scoring chart, trailing English striker Ivan Toney, who leads the race with 23 goals for Al-Ahli.
Al-Nassr will now be hoping their star forward makes a swift recovery as the season approaches a crucial stage.
