Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has conducted an on-site inspection of the newly completed Tolu Schools Complex, a sprawling education project expected to significantly expand access to quality learning in the state.
During the visit, the governor assessed the readiness of the facility ahead of its official commissioning, describing the project as a landmark investment in the future of Lagos children. According to updates shared across official state communication channels and echoed by The Nation, the complex is designed to accommodate more than 20,000 students across multiple levels of education.
Situated on approximately 11.7 hectares of land, the Tolu Schools Complex integrates 36 institutions, covering primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary categories within a single coordinated environment. The scale of the development, as highlighted by Lagos State Government’s official social media platforms, positions it among the largest unified school communities on the continent.
Beyond classroom structures, the facility boasts a range of modern amenities, including sports infrastructure such as football pitches and basketball courts, alongside other learning support facilities aimed at enhancing both academic and extracurricular development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated that education remains a central pillar of his administration’s agenda, stressing that projects like the Tolu complex are part of a broader commitment to improving public education standards across Lagos. As noted by Channels Television in its report on the visit, the governor emphasised the importance of creating conducive environments where students can thrive.
He also acknowledged the reception from residents and students during the inspection, noting that public support continues to drive the government’s efforts in delivering impactful infrastructure.
The Tolu Schools Complex is expected to ease pressure on existing public schools while setting a new benchmark for integrated educational development in Nigeria’s most populous state.
