See Court Decision After Man Beats Victim to Death in Ibadan

Isaac Akinola, a 25-year-old man, was remanded in custody by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Thursday after being charged with conspiracy and murder in connection with the beating death of a man.
Akinola, whose address was not disclosed, is accused of conspiring with others to fatally assault one Mr. John Kome, aged 30, on November 20 at around 10:00 a.m. in Ogbomosho.
Magistrate Mrs. Oluwabusayo Osho did not take Akinola’s plea due to the court’s lack of jurisdiction and directed that the case file be forwarded to the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions for further legal advice. She adjourned the matter until February 19, 2025, for mention.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olalekan Adegbite, stated that Akinola and his accomplices were responsible for the assault, which resulted in Kome’s death. The charges against Akinola contravene Sections 516 and 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
