See How EFCC Arrests Fake Military Officers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the arrest of Dennis Baba Wdony, Wycliffe Midala, and Samuel Kayode Melaye on Wednesday for allegedly impersonating military officers.

The suspects reportedly used the name of the Chief of Defence Staff to defraud unsuspecting members of the public through fake contract awards. EFCC investigations revealed that the trio operated as a syndicate, advertising non-existent contracts under the guise of the Chief of Defence Staff’s office.

The arrests followed multiple petitions received by the EFCC regarding their fraudulent activities. One petitioner reported losing N21 million to the scam.

The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
