See How Vigilante was Killed by Cultists in Rivers State

In a tragic incident on Wednesday night, a local security operative known only as Prince was shot dead by gunmen believed to be cultists in the Igwuruta community, located within the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Reports indicate that members of the Onelga Security Planning Advisory Committee (OSPAC) vigilante group responded to an emergency call regarding a potential kidnapping in the area. Upon arrival, they were ambushed by the armed men who began shooting.
One of the bullets struck Prince, resulting in his immediate death. The attackers fled the scene quickly, evading capture.
An anonymous source recounted the chaotic scene, explaining that the sound of gunfire caused widespread panic, with residents running for cover to avoid stray bullets. “OSPAC responded to a call about a kidnapping. As soon as they got there, gunmen started shooting, and one of their members was killed,” the source said.
The deceased’s body has since been removed from the scene and taken to an undisclosed mortuary.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident. She stated, “An investigation is ongoing to determine the details of the event and to ensure those responsible are caught and brought to justice.”
