See Reasons President Tinubu Approves Redeployment of Four Federal Permanent Secretaries

REDEPLOYMENT OF FEDERAL PERMANENT SECRETARIES
His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the reassignment of four Federal Permanent Secretaries as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the performance and effectiveness of the Federal Civil Service. This move is aimed at improving service delivery and aligning with the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
The redeployment also seeks to foster innovation, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the overall performance of the Federal Civil Service.
The following Permanent Secretaries have been reassigned as outlined below:
1. Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe – From the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, where she will understudy the current Permanent Secretary ahead of their retirement on May 7, 2025.
2. Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo – From the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
3. Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi – From the Ministry of Budget & Economic Development to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
4. Mr. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam – From the Special Duties Office, OHCSF, to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, emphasized that the redeployment is a standard administrative procedure intended to inject fresh energy into the Civil Service by utilizing the expertise of senior officials in crucial sectors. She encouraged the reassigned Permanent Secretaries to apply their vast experience in their new roles to ensure continued excellence in service delivery.
All handover and takeover processes are expected to be completed by May 2, 2025.
The Federal Government is dedicated to developing a high-performing Civil Service that contributes to national growth and upholds the highest standards of professionalism.
