See Reasons Woman Kills Husband with Pestle in Ondo
Omolara Oluwakemi has been accused of murdering her husband, Seidu Jamiu, in Ondo State, allegedly due to suspicions of infidelity. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 1, 2024, at their home in Akungba Akoko, located in Akoko North East Local Government Area.
It is alleged that Oluwakemi used a pestle to strike her husband on the head while he slept. The couple, who had been married for over seven years, shared three children.
A family member confirmed the event to the Daily Trust, stating that Oluwakemi retrieved the pestle from the backyard and attacked her husband due to ongoing accusations of infidelity. “There had been tensions between the couple, with Oluwakemi frequently accusing her husband of maintaining a relationship with another woman,” the source explained. “Sadly, we learned over the weekend that she had killed him. Seeing his body at the hospital was heartbreaking.”
The State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the murder on Sunday. She noted that Oluwakemi reported the incident herself, claiming unknown assailants were responsible for her husband’s death.
“No arrests have been made yet. While we cannot confirm Oluwakemi’s involvement in the murder, she did report the incident to the police. An investigation is currently underway,” Odunlami-Omisanya added.
