See Reasons Zamfara Governor Lawal Launches Distribution of Over N1 Billion in Medical Supplies
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has officially inaugurated the distribution of essential medical supplies, including drugs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and emergency response materials, to hospitals across the state. The event took place on Thursday at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Damba.
According to a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, this distribution forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve public health. The initiative involves distributing over N1 billion worth of critical resources aimed at addressing gaps in the state’s healthcare system.
Governor Lawal emphasized that the provision of these supplies is a proactive step to enhance patient care by ensuring that healthcare facilities are adequately stocked. He stated, “The distribution of these resources is not merely symbolic but represents a tangible commitment to the state of emergency declared in our health sector. It reflects our determination to address health challenges head-on.”
He highlighted that this initiative is essential for strengthening the state’s ability to handle health emergencies, prevent disease outbreaks, and deliver effective care. Governor Lawal also noted that, thanks to proactive measures, Zamfara State has been free of polio cases since September 2023.
He called on all stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community leaders, to collaborate in ensuring the success of these health initiatives. “Achieving our health goals and making significant progress relies on our collective effort and shared responsibility,” he added.
