Ademola Lookman
Manchester United are reportedly keen on acquiring Ademola Lookman this summer and are prepared to submit a €60 million offer, as reported by Italian sources.
Lookman had an outstanding season at Atalanta, notably scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen. This performance helped La Dea secure their first continental trophy. Throughout the season, the Nigerian winger scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions.
His impressive season has attracted interest from several clubs. While Manchester United are eager to bring Lookman to Old Trafford, they face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea, who are also reportedly willing to meet the €60 million asking price.
Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, is looking to bolster the team’s attacking options after a season that ended with a negative goal difference and only 57 Premier League goals. According to Calciomercato, via Sport Witness, United see Lookman as a potential solution to their offensive struggles and are ready to make a substantial investment in the 26-year-old.
While the €60 million fee may seem steep, Atalanta are reportedly only considering ‘irrefutable’ offers for Lookman, whom they consider crucial to their team. Having previously played in the Premier League, Lookman would likely adapt quickly to the demands of English football, making him an attractive option for United’s management.
The uncertain futures of players like Antony and Marcus Rashford further motivate United’s pursuit of Lookman. Antony has yet to make a significant impact at the club, and Rashford’s future remains uncertain amid interest from Arsenal. Rashford is scheduled for talks with Ten Hag to discuss his future at the club.
