See the Number of Nigerian Soldier Lakurawa Terrorists Kill in Fierce Gunbattle in Sokoto

In a recent operation in Sokoto State, troops from the Defence Headquarters Special Operations Brigade successfully neutralized six terrorists from the Lakurawa group. The coordinated mission, carried out in the Gudu Local Government Area as part of Operation Fansan Yamma, resulted in a deadly clash.
According to a statement released on Thursday by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the operation was intense, culminating in the loss of five soldiers’ lives during the firefight. The military also seized significant items from the terrorists, including four AK-47 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a box of 12.7mm ammunition.
While the military acknowledged the success of the mission, they expressed profound grief over the soldiers’ sacrifice. The statement emphasized that the operation’s success came at a heavy price, with the five soldiers’ deaths marking a tragic loss.
In the aftermath, the military urged residents of Gudu LGA and nearby areas to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities. It also stressed the importance of community cooperation in ensuring safety and supporting ongoing security efforts.
