See the Numbers of Criminals Security Forces kill, Destroy their Hideout in Anambra

A joint security operation involving the police, military, and other security agencies has led to the deaths of five suspected criminals in Anambra State. The operation also saw the destruction of a criminal camp used by the gang to carry out illegal activities.
The Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the operation in a press release shared with DAILY POST in Awka, the state capital. According to Ikenga, the operation took place on January 14, 2025, at approximately 12:30 PM in Umuogem, Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area.
Ikenga stated that the security team executed a successful offensive against an armed gang, which was suspected of secessionist activities, along the Umugem road in Ufuma. Five members of the group were neutralized, while others managed to escape with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.
The operation resulted in the destruction of the gang’s camp and the recovery of significant items, including four undetonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two AK47 rifles, a pump-action shotgun, a 75-volt battery, and other incriminating materials.
Ikenga credited the success of the operation to the effective collaboration between the different security agencies and confirmed that ongoing operations in the region are focused on apprehending the remaining gang members.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, urged residents to continue cooperating with security forces to help eliminate criminal gangs from the area.
