See the Numbers of People Dead in Anambra Multiple Road Accidents

A series of road accidents in Anambra State have resulted in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 11 others, occurring over Monday and Tuesday on the Onitsha-Awka Expressway.
The first incident, which took place around 6:41 pm on Monday at the Ukpo junction, involved a commercial Toyota Delica bus (registration NZN116LK) and a private Toyota Diana (registration ACA529XA). According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver attempted to overtake another vehicle but collided with an oncoming vehicle due to wrongful overtaking. This crash resulted in one fatality and five injuries.
Margaret Onabe, acting Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident, detailing that three men and three women were involved. The injured were transported to Boromie Mission Hospital in Onitsha, where one female was declared dead. The FRSC team also managed the traffic and cleared the scene.
In another tragic event on Tuesday at 5:20 am, two unidentified female passengers died and five others were injured when a Mack tanker (registration AAA877XR) collided with a commercial Toyota Diana (registration AGL627XC) at Obenetiti Awkuzu. Witnesses reported that the tanker experienced brake failure, causing the crash. The injured were taken to a hospital, and the deceased were sent to the morgue.
The third accident occurred opposite the Slaughter area on the Nteje-Awka-Onitsha Expressway, involving a Mack tanker (registration LSD760XL) and a Toyota Camry (registration JRV358HK). Speeding and wrongful overtaking led to this crash, which resulted in one death and one injury. The injured person was taken to Chira Hospital, where one man was confirmed dead.
Onabe emphasized the need for motorists to drive safely and within speed limits to avoid such tragic incidents. The Anambra State Sector Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi, also expressed condolences to the victims’ families and urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly at night.
