Pastor William Kumuyi, General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has urged Nigeria’s youth to engage in dialogue with the Federal Government to foster positive socio-economic development in the country.
Kumuyi made this appeal upon his arrival at Port Harcourt Airport for a six-day event hosted by the Change Makers International Initiative (CMII) in Rivers State. As the convener of CMII, Kumuyi described the initiative as a non-religious, non-partisan, and non-denominational movement dedicated to driving social impact and positive change in Nigeria.
He emphasized that the program, titled “Driving Positive Change and Social Impact,” aims to enhance the well-being of Nigerians from all backgrounds, facilitating both social and spiritual transformation.
“The program is designed to address Nigeria’s deep-rooted social, economic, and moral challenges. It’s crucial that everyone contributes to implementing necessary changes, or else our society will continue to struggle,” Kumuyi stated.
He noted that the initiative is focused on promoting a fresh perspective and renewed commitment to improving society, rather than assigning blame for past failures. According to Kumuyi, merely pointing fingers won’t resolve the issues; instead, embracing positive change is essential for healing the nation.
“We recognize that there are various approaches to bringing about change,” he said. “While different groups, including the youth, older generations, and the government, may have divergent views, it is vital that we all work towards a common goal of positive change.
“If we pool our efforts and energy together, avoiding conflicts and focusing on collaboration, we can create a strategic plan to achieve meaningful change for the country,” Kumuyi concluded.
