See what Protesters do to Minister at Eagle Square

At Abuja’s Eagles Square, protesters drowned out the Minister of State for Youths Development, Ayodele Olawande, as he attempted to address them. Despite his efforts to speak, the crowd’s chants of “hunger dey” made it impossible for him to be heard.

Once the noise subsided, the minister clarified that he was not trying to end the protest. He described himself as a supporter of such demonstrations, having participated in hundreds of them himself. “I’m not here to oppose you or to discourage your protest; it is your right. I’ve been part of over 100-500 protests,” he stated.
Olawande also promised to bring up with the police the issue of them firing canisters at the protesters.
In response, the demonstrators maintained their refusal to relocate to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. They pointed out that a similar protest held there a few days ago occurred without police interference.
