See when Ramadan is Set to Begins

As per the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), today marks the 29th of Sha’aban, 1446 AH. This means Ramadan is set to begin either tomorrow or the following day, depending on the moon sighting.

For us as Muslims in Nigeria, we should follow the guidance of our leadership. The NSCIA, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, is our official authority. Islam transcends ethnic divisions, so there is no such thing as a Hausa moon or Fulani moon. Unity in worship is vital, and we must wait for the official announcement before beginning our fast.

Ramadan is a sacred month, filled with Allah’s mercy and blessings. Let’s maximize its potential by:

Reflecting on the Qur’an and engaging in its recitation

Enhancing our worship through Nafl prayers and Qiyaam al-Layl

Participating in Tafseer sessions to deepen our knowledge of Islam

Giving generously in Sadaqah to support those in need

Strengthening our bond with Allah through Dhikr and heartfelt Du’a

Seeking forgiveness and purifying our hearts from grudges and sins

May Allah grant us the strength to fast with sincerity, maintain good health, and strengthen our Imaan. May He accept our prayers, forgive our faults, and grant us His mercy and eternal paradise.
