See Why Pastor Adeboye Criticizes Christians’ Role in Addressing Corruption in Nigeria

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, a prominent Nigerian pastor and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has voiced strong criticism regarding the role of Christians in combatting corruption in Nigeria. In a recent statement, Pastor Adeboye highlighted the pervasive nature of corruption in the country and attributed part of the problem to the lack of visible impact from the Christian community.
“We talk about corruption in Nigeria. Why do you think corruption has become so entrenched? It is because we Christians, who are supposed to be peculiar people, are not making any difference. It’s so difficult to even know who is who,” Pastor Adeboye remarked.
He emphasized that Christians, who are expected to uphold moral standards and lead by example, have not sufficiently distinguished themselves in the fight against corruption. His comments reflect a broader concern about the effectiveness of ethical and moral leadership in addressing systemic issues within the country.
