Senator Ireti Kingibe has called on Nigerian youths to move beyond complaints and become actively involved in reshaping the nation’s future, according to a report by News360 Nigeria.

She emphasized that young people must begin holding long-standing political figures accountable, citing the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, as an example of the kind of leadership that requires scrutiny.

“Nigerian youths spend too much time complaining,” Kingibe remarked. “It’s time they stand up, face politicians like Wike head-on, and take ownership of their country’s direction.”

She criticized the lack of meaningful dialogue, saying, “There’s too much ranting and trading of insults online—that doesn’t lead to real change. We need constructive engagement.”

Her remarks come amid rising economic hardship and deepening political tension across the country, further highlighting the need for active youth participation in governance.
