In a playful video that captured the attention of fans, the “Billionaire” singer revealed that she avoids giving money at the end of the week because, in her words, people often end up spending it on pepper soup rather than more practical needs.
With her usual lighthearted style and in Pidgin English, she said:
“Me, I no dey give anybody money on Friday. No no no! If you give person money on Friday, dem go use your money chop pepper soup.”
Teni then shared a humorous personal story behind her “Friday rule.” She recalled a time when she gave someone money, believing they intended to start a business, only to later find out the cash was spent on a hefty plate of catfish pepper soup.
She laughed, saying, “I just weak. The person say dem wan do business, but na pepper soup dem chop with my money. Since then, I no dey give money on Friday again.”
