Terrorists Raid Kano Community, Kill Soldier and Civilian, Steal Cattle

Faruruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State was attacked by armed terrorists, leaving a Nigerian soldier and a civilian dead and resulting in the theft of a large number of cattle, a major setback to local livelihoods.
The assault reportedly began late Thursday night and continued into the early hours of Friday, with the attackers operating unchecked for several hours. Security monitoring platform Bakatsine confirmed the extended nature of the raid and underscored the growing security challenges in the area.
As of this report, Kano State authorities and security agencies have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
This latest attack follows a deadly bandit raid in the same community on November 10, 2025, when gunmen abducted five women, including four nursing mothers, from Yan Kwada village around 11:00 pm. Two of the women later returned, while three remain in captivity. Residents described the attackers as firing sporadically to terrorize the community and breaking into homes before fleeing with their victims.
