Theft in Calabar: Cross River governor promised to compensate me, says Mayorkun
Singer, Adewale Mayowa, popularly known as Mayorkun, said he met with the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, who assured him of compensation for his lost valuables in Calabar.
Mayorkun made this known in a post on his X account on Tuesday.
Sharing a photo from the meeting Mayorkun wrote, “Just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Prince Bassey Otu.
He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable and he has also stressed that I’ll be compensated for my valuables lost. Thank you sir 🫶🏾.

Mayorkun had earlier vowed not to perform in Calabar again following the theft of an undisclosed item.
Mayorkun, who performed in the state on Monday, expressed dissatisfaction in his social media posts, hinting that the overall experience was far from enjoyable.
His colleague, Iyanya, has revealed that one of the neckchains which was reportedly stolen has been returned.
