Tinubu Orders Military to Eradicate Banditry and Insecurity by 2025

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, FRN President
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian military to eliminate banditry and overall insecurity across the country by the end of 2025.
This directive was revealed by the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, in a widely circulated video.
Following the president’s order, Badaru emphasized that the military would intensify its operations against bandits and all forms of criminal activity. He stated that the bandits are currently on the run and assured that the military would not relent until they are completely eradicated.
Badaru explained, “The bandits are fleeing, but our forces will not rest until we bring an end to this. The president has tasked us with eradicating insecurity nationwide by the close of 2025.”
He also mentioned that the Chief of Defence Staff and the National Security Adviser are working tirelessly to achieve this goal, with ongoing pressure on all active operational areas.
Additionally, Badaru noted that mining activities in Zamfara have already been suspended, a move aimed at tackling some of the security challenges in the region. He added that the meeting was focused on evaluating critical security concerns and finding the best strategies to secure the affected areas.
