Tinubu Orders Minister of Finance, Edun to Submit New Minimum Wage Proposal Within 48 Hours
President Bola Tinubu has tasked the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, with providing a detailed analysis of the new minimum wage costs within 48 hours.
This directive was shared by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing with State House Correspondents following a meeting between the president and the negotiation team at Aso Rock on Tuesday.
“All parties involved in negotiating the new minimum wage will collaborate with organized labor to present a proposal within one week.
“We are committed to working diligently over the next week to establish a minimum wage for Nigeria that is both acceptable and sustainable,” Idris stated.
Idris further mentioned that the President has mandated all negotiators representing the Federal government, organized private sectors, and sub-national entities to come together to agree on a wage award that is both feasible and enduring for Nigerians.
