Tosin Bee Opens Up on Staying Composed After Davido’s Social Media Mix-Up

Gospel singer Oluwatosin Adejumobi, popularly known as Tosin Bee, has recounted his calm response after afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, mistakenly called him out on social media over a custody dispute involving his daughter, Imade.
Speaking in an interview, Tosin Bee said he was initially surprised as people began tagging him in the post. “It caught me off guard at first. I thought it was a mistaken call-out,” he explained.
He added that once it became clear that the situation was a case of mistaken identity, he chose to respond calmly. “I composed a response, shared some words of encouragement, and didn’t expect it to go viral the way it did,” he said. His composed reaction drew praise online, with many commending him for not escalating the situation.
The singer noted that remaining calm is his natural approach to challenges. “It was easy to stay composed because I had done nothing wrong. Eventually, Davido apologised, and the internet jokingly started calling me ‘Omo lawyer,’” he said.
Beyond the viral moment, Tosin Bee reflected on his music career and ministry, emphasizing that both are intertwined. “My artistry is an extension of my ministry. When I create music, I’m expressing the same calling in a different language,” he said.
He highlighted recent projects, including singles such as Adurotini, More Than Able, and Songs of Joy, as well as the third edition of his live praise series, Praise Unlimited 3. “This project marks a significant milestone for us, showcasing our growth and commitment to excellence,” he noted.
Tosin Bee also advised upcoming gospel artistes to nurture their relationship with God, focus on uplifting music, be patient, and leverage digital platforms to reach a wider audience.
