Tragedy in Ondo: Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Stabbing Friend to Death

The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State has arrested a suspect over the alleged killing of an 18-year-old boy during a violent dispute in Owo.
The suspect, identified as Johnson Daniel, was taken into custody after he allegedly stabbed Ariyo Amos Timilehinduring an altercation that reportedly escalated into violence.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Abayomi Jimoh, said the incident occurred on March 6 and is currently under investigation.
According to reports cited by The Punch, the two young men were engaged in a heated argument when the confrontation turned deadly.
Police sources revealed that the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owo shortly after the attack, but doctors on duty confirmed that he was already dead on arrival.
Following the incident, detectives visited the scene where the stabbing reportedly took place and recovered the knife believed to have been used during the attack.
Jimoh explained that the suspect was subsequently arrested and the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a detailed probe.
According to additional coverage referenced by The Nation, early findings indicate that the victim and the suspect were acquaintances who were often seen together around their neighbourhood before the fatal confrontation.
The police command expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and urged residents to avoid violence when resolving disagreements.
Authorities also encouraged members of the public to seek peaceful and lawful means of settling disputes rather than resorting to actions that could lead to tragic consequences.
