Tragic Death in Ogun: Man Found Dead with Insecticide, Suspected Suicide

A 35-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Urhobocha, was discovered dead in his residence on Alafia Street, Sango-Ota, in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. His body was found face down with a container of insecticide nearby.

Omolola Odutola, Public Relations Officer for the Ogun Police Command, confirmed the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Friday. She explained that Urhobocha’s roommate, Obabiyi David, had earlier reported to the Sango-Ota Police Division that Urhobocha had been behaving erratically and had even attacked him with a knife.

Police were dispatched to investigate, but upon arrival, they found the door locked from the inside. Officers forced entry and found Urhobocha deceased. The body was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. His remains have been moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

Odutola stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of Urhobocha’s death. This incident follows a similar case where a 32-year-old man, Oluwaseun Shorinola, took his own life in the Kémta area of Abeokuta the previous day.
