Tragic Incident in Ibadan: Tanker Crushes Commercial Motorcyclist

In Ibadan, Oyo State, a commercial motorcyclist named Edward Bamidele tragically lost his life on Wednesday after being hit by a water-laden tanker.

The fatal accident occurred around 7:30 am near the well-known Alesinloye Market road, close to the Iyaganku Police Area Command.

According to reports, Bamidele was attempting to overtake the tanker when he lost control, fell, and was subsequently run over by the tanker. The passenger on Bamidele’s motorcycle managed to escape uninjured by jumping off before the collision.

Authorities, including the Nigerian Police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure the flow of traffic.

The deceased’s body has been taken to the State Hospital, Adeoyo mortuary. The driver of the tanker, which did not have a registration number, fled the scene before law enforcement officers arrived.
