Tunde Bakare Breaks Silence: ADC Leaders Mount Pressure for His Defection

Bakare, who is the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, disclosed this while addressing journalists on the state of the nation, noting that he has been receiving several calls and visits from ADC leaders who believe his presence in their fold could reshape the political landscape.
According to him, while he appreciates their confidence and persuasion, his decision to join any political platform will be guided strictly by conviction and divine direction.
“They keep calling me; they want me to come over. I have been under immense pressure from the ADC leadership to join them. But I am not a man who moves because of pressure — I move only when I am convinced that it is the right step to take,” Bakare stated.
The fiery preacher, known for his fearless stance on national issues, explained that Nigeria needs more than just political realignment — it requires genuine leadership, vision, and integrity to drive the country forward.
He stressed that his primary commitment remains the pursuit of good governance, justice, and national transformation, irrespective of political affiliations.
Political observers believe Bakare’s revelation has further fueled speculations about possible realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Many see his potential move as a boost for any party that successfully secures his membership, given his reputation for principled leadership and strong followership base.
As the political climate continues to heat up, all eyes remain on Pastor Tunde Bakare to see whether he will yield to ADC’s persistent calls or chart a new course entirely
on his own terms.
