Vice Chancellor: Maduka University Graduates to be Job Creators, Not Job Seekers; Give Reasons

Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University in Ekwegbe-Nsukka, Enugu State, has highlighted the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are equipped to create jobs rather than just seek them.

Speaking in Nsukka after a facility inspection at JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd and G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd, Ogbulogo announced that the university plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with these companies to enhance its entrepreneurial training programs.

Ogbulogo shared, “Our goal at Maduka University is to ensure that each graduate leaves with at least two vocational skills, enabling them to become job creators. I am impressed with the facilities here and we are excited to formalize our partnership through an MoU soon.”

He further explained that the university aims to incorporate these entrepreneurial models into its own training programs to better prepare students for the business world. “Maduka University focuses on equipping students with practical skills that will make them self-sufficient and capable of creating their own job opportunities.”

Chief Ifeanyichukwu Okpo, Managing Director of JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd and Director of the Centre for Agriculture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Maduka University. He detailed his company’s work in bee farming, honey production, and international honey exports, emphasizing their commitment to quality and global representation.

Similarly, Mr. Peter Onyeke, Managing Director of G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd, shared insights into his company’s operations in machine fabrication and agro-food processing. Onyeke highlighted the company’s production of various machines used for processing food and recycling plastics, aiming to support local markets and improve industry standards.

Onyeke, who also owns Onward Secondary School Nsukka, praised Maduka University’s initiative and encouraged other institutions to adopt similar approaches to foster self-reliant graduates.

The Vice-Chancellor’s inspection was supported by Dr. Dan Ochi, Vice President of Business Development at the Nsukka Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
