Video: Wike to Kingibe: As FCT Minister, You Won’t Return to Senate in 2027

During the launch of the Mabushi Bus Terminal in Abuja, Wike expressed his disappointment with Kingibe. He criticized her for her lack of collaboration with the FCT Administration and her dissatisfaction with the praise residents are giving to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Wike remarked, “I overheard someone on Arise TV this morning. Sadly, this individual is a National Assembly member. With all due respect, it’s important to acknowledge what you do and do not know. If you don’t know something, admit it, and let others educate you.
“The Honourable Minister of State and I have been in office for less than 11 months, yet this person is upset about the commendations we’re receiving. If you’re angry about that, go ahead and express your frustration. If we’ve performed well, it’s evident. If not, that’s also clear. I proudly state that in the brief time since our appointment by Mr. President, we’ve made significant progress.
“You claimed there are no hospitals. As a legislator, what have you done to address this? How many bills have you sponsored to improve our education and healthcare sectors?
“I challenge that legislator. If you believe you are popular, run again in 2027 under Abuja, and you will fail. What happened last time will not repeat. Fortunately for me, I am the FCT Minister now, and I am confident in my position.
“People should be honest and accept the truth. We’re not seeking new allies; we already have more friends than we can manage. We’re not interested in begging for friendships.
“If you’re upset that people are praising us, by next year, your blood pressure will rise significantly because the commendations will only increase.”
Kingibe had criticized the Wike-led administration during a television program, declaring she is not aligned with the minister.
