Why Adegboyega Oyetola Should Run for Osun Governorship in 2026 – APC Support Group

Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine & Blue Economy
As the 2026 Osun State governorship election approaches, the Ilerioluwa Progressive Support Group (IPSG) has urged Adegboyega Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, to run for the position once again.
At a press briefing held on Wednesday at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo, the group’s Chairman, Dr. Adeyoola Adejare, and Secretary, Mr. Adekanmi Adelana, emphasized Oyetola’s ability to unite the party and his impressive leadership qualities.
According to Adejare, Oyetola’s strong financial acumen, commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable policies make him a prime candidate to secure victory in the upcoming election.
“He has the experience to foster party unity. If Oyetola decides not to run in 2026, it could open the door for internal disagreements and tensions within the APC. His candidacy would ensure cohesion and prevent divisions,” Adejare remarked.
On the issue of equitable development, the group emphasized Oyetola’s inclusive approach. They noted that while the governorship is currently based in Osun West, Oyetola’s leadership would ensure that all districts in the state receive equal attention. “Oyetola is not the type of leader to favor one region over another,” they added.
The group further urged Oyetola to reconsider running for governor, citing his calm demeanor, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to public service. “Oyetola’s leadership legacy speaks to his ability to balance fiscal responsibility with large-scale development, all while upholding the values of transparency and good governance,” they concluded.
