Woman Caught for Theft from Students Rooms at Gyado Villa, Makurdi, Amidst Rising Tensions

A shocking incident in Makurdi has brought to light the growing concerns about security in student residential areas. A woman from North Bank, identified as a suspect in a series of thefts, was apprehended for stealing from students at Gyado Villa, a neighborhood known for housing students of Benue State University. She was caught with various stolen items, including students’ foodstuffs, personal properties, and even a gas cylinder, with many keys, which she do use to open students door
The woman was reportedly seen lurking around the area late at night, which aroused suspicion among the students. When she attempted to leave the vicinity, a group of vigilant students confronted her, discovering that she was carrying several stolen items. A closer inspection of her belongings revealed food, keys to student rooms, and other personal possessions that had been taken from different students’ apartments.

A crowd of angry students, deeply frustrated by the constant thefts in their area, demanded swift and severe punishment for the woman. In a moment of outrage, some of the students even threatened to take matters into their own hands, suggesting they would set her ablaze.
