“You Must Think You’re Addressing Your Slaves” – Mr. Macaroni Criticizes Wike

Nollywood actor Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, has called out the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for insulting Abuja residents during a recent visit.
Wike was in the area last Tuesday amid reports of protests from locals who opposed the demolition of their properties. Dressed in a blue suit and his trademark bowler hat, Wike, visibly frustrated and flanked by security, lectured residents on proper land acquisition procedures.
“It cannot work. You can’t come here and claim land as your own. We won’t permit that. If not for lawlessness…” Wike said emphatically. He added, “If you don’t know what to do, we’ll show you.”
In response, the residents protested, asserting they had legal documents proving their ownership. “We are not land grabbers; we are developers. We have the paperwork and have submitted it to the authorities,” they insisted.
Wike interrupted, asserting, “Shut up! Every land in the FCT belongs to the FCT. The Supreme Court ruled that area councils don’t have the authority to allocate land, which is why they approached us for assistance.”
In a post on his X handle, Mr. Macaroni urged Wike to engage with Nigerian citizens respectfully, emphasizing that they are the ones who fund his position. He condemned Wike’s dismissive remarks, stating that the former governor is not doing anyone a favor by serving as Minister.
He wrote, “Dear @GovWike, you are a PUBLIC SERVANT! When addressing the citizens who pay your salary, do so with humility and respect. Don’t ask Nigerians if they are foolish… you are not doing anyone a favor by being Minister!
“Is it because I came down to talk to you? Lol… You must think you’re talking to your slaves.”
