Young POS Operator Shares How She Was Scammed by Two Men

A young POS operator recently shared her unsettling experience after being deceived by two men during a transaction.

She explained that the men approached her stand under the guise of making a withdrawal. They distracted her during the process and managed to steal ₦70,000 from her before quickly fleeing on a motorcycle.
Realizing she had been scammed, the operator wasted no time and immediately flagged down a tricycle (keke) to search for the culprits. Though she felt anxious and unsure of success, her determination to recover the money kept her going.
After driving around and asking locals for help, she eventually spotted the two men. She quickly alerted bystanders and confronted the suspects, who were eventually apprehended thanks to her persistence and quick action.
Her experience highlights the importance for POS operators to remain vigilant and cautious during transactions to avoid falling victim to similar scams.
