2027: Kwankwaso Denies Power Sharing Agreements With Peter Obi, Atiku
Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State, has firmly denied reports suggesting that he had agreed to a power-sharing arrangement with Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 presidential election. According to these claims, Kwankwaso would serve as president for four years, with Atiku holding office for the first four years, and Obi completing an eight-year term.
In a recent interview with BBC, Kwankwaso categorically dismissed these allegations, stating that no such agreement had ever been made. He explained that while he had heard rumors of Atiku’s camp holding discussions with regional leaders and religious figures to promote this narrative, he was completely unaware of any such deal.
“I did not appreciate this at all,” Kwankwaso said, expressing his frustration over the misinformation. “They were told that I had agreed to a deal where Atiku would serve for four years, I would serve for another four years, and Peter Obi would serve for eight years. This is completely false; such an agreement never existed.”
He further criticized the spread of these “lies and deceit,” emphasizing that it was the reason he, along with Peter Obi, Nyesom Wike, and others, decided to part ways with certain political factions.
Kwankwaso also expressed his reluctance to assist those who had previously humiliated him, adding, “Now they are coming back, asking us to help those who humiliated us to achieve their goals.”
