TINUBU, BEWARE: ADELEKE’S DEFECTION PLAN IS A TRAP FOR APC

To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leaders of our party, the APC:
Don’t fall for it.
There’s a quiet plan brewing—and it’s one that could seriously damage our party, especially in Osun. Word on the street and credible sources tell us that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his powerful brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke, are considering jumping ship from the PDP to the APC. In return, they’re promising to help deliver Osun for the president in 2027.
It might sound tempting—but make no mistake: this is not a gift. It’s a trap. A Trojan horse.
The Adeleke family is not known for loyalty or principle. They move wherever the wind blows strongest, always chasing power and personal gain. Let’s not forget: in 2017, Ademola Adeleke left the APC for the PDP just days before a bye-election, won it, and then his brother went public complaining that the PDP had failed to keep their end of the bargain. That’s who we’re dealing with—dealmakers, not democrats.
Since Ademola became governor, Osun has practically become family business. Contracts worth billions have allegedly been handed to companies tied to the governor’s relatives—including his brother and even his son, Davido. Projects that used to cost ₦2 million now go for ₦14 million. It’s open season on state funds.
Even worse, his sister, Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, is acting like a shadow governor—approving memos, picking who gets public jobs, and even representing the state at official events. This is not governance. This is a family cartel.
Now, some people want to bring this same group into our party? We say: absolutely not.
The APC in Osun is already managing deep internal divisions. There’s tension between loyalists of former governors Oyetola and Aregbesola. Adding the Adeleke dynasty into that mix would be political suicide. It would inflame the party’s cracks, embolden enemies, and hand over influence to people who don’t believe in our values.
Look at the record. Even with the Adelekes in PDP, APC won Osun in the 2019 presidential election and secured most legislative seats. In 2023, we still took two of the three senatorial seats. We don’t need them. We have the strength. We have the people.
History has shown over and over: when the Adelekes join forces with anyone, it’s only until they get what they want. Then they walk away. They did it to Omisore. They’ll do it again.
President Tinubu, you helped build this party. You know what betrayal looks like. Don’t reward it. Don’t open the gates for those who once left us—and will leave again when it suits them.
We, the APC Solidarity Group in Osun, are clear on this:
We don’t need the PDP. We don’t need the Adelekes. We will win the next election with our own loyal members, with fresh leadership, and with the support of real grassroots people—not political contractors.
Bringing the Adeleke family into our party would be a mistake we won’t recover from. If it happens, we will fight it—with everything we’ve got.
Let this be the final word.
Signed:
APC SOLIDARITY GROUP, OSUN STATE
