77 Communities in Anambra Lack Public Schools – Governor Soludo

Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has revealed that there are 77 communities within the state that do not have access to public schools.
During a recent meeting with public school leaders, Soludo emphasized that his administration is actively working to resolve this issue and is committed to ensuring that resources are available for ongoing teacher development.
He stated, “Our future depends on our collective efforts. We must act decisively now. This is a critical investment for our community.”
Highlighting the challenges his administration faces, Soludo noted, “We have inherited significant arrears in pensions and gratuities, but we are on track to complete those payments soon. Anyone who retires under my leadership will receive their benefits after proper documentation.”
Although he has been authorized to borrow 100 billion naira since taking office, he emphasized that his administration has not yet done so, aiming to avoid future debt burdens. “I will borrow only to enhance our capacity for the future, ensuring fiscal sustainability,” he said.
The governor also outlined his administration’s achievements, including the recruitment of 8,115 teachers, over 1,000 healthcare professionals, and the empowerment of 5,000 youths, alongside an additional 8,000 participants in the “one youth, two skills” entrepreneurship initiative.
