‘Total Disrespect’ – Paul Okoye Criticized for Behavior at Traditional Marriage Introduction
Ossai Success, former aide to Delta State’s ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has criticized Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as RudeBoy, for allegedly disrespecting his in-laws during a recent traditional marriage introduction.
According to Naija News, Paul, who finalized his divorce from his first wife Anita in 2022, posted photos of the marriage introduction with Ivy Ifeoma on his Instagram page on Sunday, receiving many congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues.
One particular photo stirred controversy: it showed Paul wearing a red cap while an elderly man prayed for him and Ivy. Success expressed his disapproval, arguing that Paul should have removed his cap out of respect for the elder, who is also his in-law.
Success remarked that this incident reflects a broader trend among today’s youth, who he believes often lack respect for elders due to their financial status. He stated, “This is total disrespect for the elder praying. An elder is praying for RudeBoy during his traditional marriage, and he is wearing a cap. Out of respect for the elder and his prayer, he should have removed his cap. The man is not just an elder but an in-law to him.”
Success concluded that young men today frequently disrespect elders, their prayers, and cultural norms because of their wealth.
