How NAF Airstrikes Eliminate 30 Terrorists in Katsina and Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that airstrikes carried out as part of Operations Hadarin Daji and Hadin Kai have resulted in the deaths of 30 terrorists in their hideouts in Katsina and Borno states.
NAF spokesperson Edward Gabkwet made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, detailing the operations’ success. According to Gabkwet, airstrikes conducted by Operation Hadarin Daji’s air component in the North-West on Monday targeted and killed several terrorists loyal to the notorious terrorist leader Babura. The strikes were focused on bandit hideouts around Bakai, Bakarya, and Yartsintsiya in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina.
Post-strike intelligence confirmed that about 30 terrorists were killed, with Babura narrowly escaping death, though many of his foot soldiers were eliminated.
Gabkwet also reported that similar airstrikes were conducted on the same day by Operation Hadin Kai’s air component at Tumbun Fulani, near Lake Chad. These strikes targeted terrorists who had relocated to new hideouts, as observed through intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
Gabkwet noted that this location had previously been struck by NAF aircraft on September 26 and 28, 2023, resulting in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their logistics and vehicles. The return of terrorists to this previously destroyed enclave underscores the ongoing success of both air and ground forces in dislodging them from various hideouts.
