MultiChoice has reinstated its previous subscription prices after a court ruling ordered the company to stop its planned price increases.

The company announced its intention to appeal the court order, arguing that the ruling is detrimental to its business model.

A review of the company’s apps indicates that the old prices have been restored while the appeal is pending.

Following a court mandate, MultiChoice, the owner of DStv and GOtv, reverted to the former subscription rates. This comes after subscribers had already paid the increased rates for May 2024. Checks by Legit.ng on June 16, 2024, confirm that the company has implemented the rollback.

The company, facing a significant subscriber loss in Nigeria—over a million subscribers—has committed to challenging the Competition Consumer Tribunal (CCT) order.
