BREAKING: Police Killed IPOB members in Ebonyi; See The Numbers that were killed

In a recent incident in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, at least five members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were reportedly killed during a confrontation with the state police command. The clash occurred when the group allegedly attacked Ishieke Police Station around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, arriving in a blue Sienna bus and initiating gunfire towards the station. Despite their assault, the police successfully engaged them in a 30-minute gun battle, resulting in their defeat.

During the exchange, police vehicles were reportedly set on fire, and the intense gunfire prompted residents to flee for safety. Additional forces from the state police command headquarters in Abakiliki and soldiers swiftly responded to the scene upon receiving distress calls from Ishieke Police Station. They collaborated to contain the situation and apprehend the perpetrators.

According to a reliable source familiar with the incident, the gunmen attempted to escape towards Odomoke Ishieke market along Nwiboko Obodo road but were intercepted by an advancing team of security operatives. This led to a final confrontation where the perpetrators were subdued.

At the time of this report, the police authorities had not yet issued an official statement regarding the attack. The Sienna bus used by the assailants and the bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the state police headquarters as part of ongoing investigations.
