Fatal Crash of Russian Passenger Jet Outside Moscow, Killing All On Board

A Sukhoi Superjet 100 crashed on Friday near Moscow, resulting in the deaths of all three crew members, according to Russian state news agency TASS. The incident occurred during a test flight with no passengers on board.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of this tragic event.
This crash is part of a troubling history for Russia’s flagship aircraft. Developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 was the first entirely new commercial aircraft produced in Russia since the Soviet era.
In May 2012, another Sukhoi Superjet 100 crashed during a demonstration flight in Indonesia, hitting Mount Salak and killing all 45 people on board.
More recently, in May 2019, an Aeroflot Superjet caught fire during an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, resulting in 41 fatalities.
