Suspected kidnappers have launched an attack on the El-Rufai Estate in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, causing significant alarm in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to reports from News360 Nigeria, the incident took place early Wednesday morning when the attackers stormed the estate, firing indiscriminately. During the chaos, a man identified as Nathaniel was shot by the assailants, who then engaged in a gunfight with officers from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT command, confirmed the incident, stating, “Yes, it is true.”
Sources revealed that the kidnappers attempted to abduct multiple residents before being thwarted by police intervention. The confrontation between the police and the criminals reportedly lasted for about 30 minutes.
