Manchester United striker Joe Hugill has departed from Erik ten Hag’s pre-season squad to join Wigan Athletic on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The Red Devils announced the move on their website on Thursday. Hugill recently showcased his talent by scoring Manchester United’s second goal in their 2-0 pre-season friendly victory over Rangers last Saturday.
At Wigan Athletic, the 20-year-old will don the no.9 shirt. He aims to secure regular first-team football and gain valuable experience under the guidance of manager Shaun Maloney.
“Everyone wishes Joe the very best of luck, and we’ll be monitoring his progress closely throughout the season,” stated Manchester United.
