Conflict Between Two House of Reps Members Escalates

The clash between two Kano House of Representatives members, Rep. Alhassan Ado Doguwa (APC) and Rep. Abdulmumini Jibrin (NNPP), has intensified amid their ongoing dispute involving former Kano State Governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Jibrin had previously cautioned Doguwa to cease making derogatory comments about Kwankwaso, the leader and founder of the Kwankwasiyya political movement. In response, Doguwa criticized Jibrin for not being politically relevant, highlighting that Jibrin was a student when Doguwa and Kwankwaso were serving in the National Assembly.
Jibrin’s media aide, Sani Ibrahim Paki, responded sharply, urging Doguwa to show respect for his seniority and warning that revealing certain secrets could lead to Doguwa’s expulsion from the APC. Paki stated, “I expected an apology from Doguwa and for him to refrain from further inflammatory remarks. Instead, he chose to trivialize the issue with petty remarks and a superiority complex. His response should be discarded as irrelevant.”
Paki added, “Doguwa’s response to me confirms that he sees me as his equal, not Kwankwaso. I appreciate that he acknowledged this, but he should reflect on why Kwankwaso has chosen not to engage with him. Kwankwaso’s silence speaks volumes about his disregard for Doguwa.”
He continued by advising Doguwa to confine his disputes and criticisms within his party, suggesting that exposing some of Doguwa’s private comments could lead to his expulsion from the APC.
In a counter-response on Tuesday, Doguwa challenged Jibrin to reveal any damaging information he may have, asserting that he is unafraid of such tactics. Doguwa stated, “I dare Abdulmumini Jibrin to disclose any secrets he holds about me. I am committed to the APC and its policies and am not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. I remain a loyal member of the party and believe in its leadership and programs.”
