NAF Dismantles Boko Haram IED Facility in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully targeted and destroyed a Boko Haram Improvised Explosive Device (IED) production facility in Grazah, located in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State.

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, confirmed that the operation took place on August 2, following intelligence reports about a suspected IED factory and logistics hub at this site.

The factory, which had previously been relocated from Gwoza to the Timbuktu Triangle in Sambisa Forest and finally to Grazah, had been under close surveillance for several weeks. The operation also resulted in the destruction of two gun trucks and the elimination of several terrorists.

This action forms part of the Air Component’s efforts under Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at countering Boko Haram’s use of IEDs and suicide bombers in attacks on civilians. The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to continue targeting and dismantling terrorist facilities and logistics as part of its broader counterterrorism strategy.
