‘Osimhen Seeks Departure from Napoli’ – Sporting Director Cristiano Manna
Napoli’s sporting director, Cristiano Manna, has confirmed that star striker Victor Osimhen has requested to leave the club amidst ongoing transfer speculation involving the Nigerian forward.
The 25-year-old, who was recently named African Footballer of the Year, has been the subject of intense transfer rumors. Although he signed a contract extension with Napoli that includes a significant £110 million release clause, Osimhen has reportedly expressed his desire to part ways with the Serie A club.
There was speculation about a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, but this move has reportedly collapsed as PSG is no longer in the market for a new striker.
With the transfer window closing soon and no resolution yet, Osimhen’s future remains unclear. “Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go,” Manna said, as noted by Fabrizio Romano.
“The situation is straightforward; there were already opportunities for his departure last summer… Victor wants to leave.”
Manna added, “We will see what happens in the next 20 days,” suggesting that Osimhen’s future might be s
ettled soon.
