Two Chinese Nationals Kidnapped in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command has reported the abduction of two Chinese nationals by suspected kidnappers in the state.

Omolola Odutola, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed on Monday in Abeokuta, the state capital, that the foreigners were taken near Kemta along Onigbedu in the Ewekoro local government area.

Odutola stated that the police are actively working to rescue the victims, who were seized while working in the region. The kidnappers have reached out to the victims’ company, demanding a ransom for their release.

“The company’s security supervisor received information from one of the expatriates that Wenguang and Ding had been kidnapped and that a ransom demand was made,” Odutola explained.

She added, “Our operatives in Ewekoro, along with local vigilantes, military personnel from the Social Orientation and Safety Corps, local hunters, and other security groups, have conducted a detailed search of the Kemta Village forest but have not yet found the victims.”

The police are continuing their efforts to secure the release of the abducted individuals.
