A man in his 50s was killed in an explosion in Tel Aviv, with a passerby sustaining moderate injuries. The deceased’s identity has not yet been confirmed.

The Shin Bet is leading the investigation, and authorities are exploring all possible motives, including terrorism.

The explosion significantly damaged a truck, and police have determined that the device responsible for the blast was carried by the deceased man.

Tel Aviv District Commander Superintendent Peretz Amar stated at the scene that identifying the man is crucial for determining whether the explosion was a criminal act or an act of terrorism.

“It could be either terrorism or a criminal act,” said Superintendent Amar, noting that the possibility of terrorism is being carefully considered.

Peretz reported that the police received numerous emergency calls describing a severely damaged body and scattered body parts. He also mentioned that the injured individual was traveling through the area on a scooter.
