Abia State Set to Start N70,000 Minimum Wage Payments; See Starting Month

The Abia State Government has announced that it will begin disbursing the new minimum wage of N70,000 starting in October. 

 

During a press briefing on Monday, Prince Okey Kanu, the state Commissioner for Information, made the announcement following the Executive Council meeting led by Governor Alex Otti. Kanu emphasized that this move fulfills Governor Otti’s commitment and will apply to all categories of workers in the state.

 

In addition to the wage increase, Kanu revealed plans to enhance the justice system by constructing 17 new court halls across the state’s local government areas. This initiative aims to ensure that the administration of justice operates smoothly and efficiently.
