Violent Clash Between Herders and Farmers Claims Five Lives in Adamawa

A violent confrontation between farmers and herders in the Kukta community of Waltadi District, Song LGA, Adamawa State, has resulted in the deaths of five individuals. The clash, which occurred late Saturday, October 27, into the early hours of Sunday, also left several others injured.

 

The violence led to the destruction of homes and significant property damage, marking an alarming escalation in tensions within the area.

 

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa State Police Command, confirmed the incident on Sunday afternoon. He reported that the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo, had dispatched officers to the scene to restore order and investigate the causes of the conflict.

 

Nguroje issued a statement earlier, noting that the altercation resulted in loss of life and property destruction, though he did not specify the casualty figures. While the police have not released official numbers, eyewitnesses have reported that five people lost their lives in the clash.
